Nick’s Westside To Open Oct. 13 In Place of Aix, Tin Tin Under Same Owners

Chef Nick Leahy is making the change amid the pandemic to offer an option more suitable to the neighborhood, rather than operating as a destination.

Nick’s Westside, a new neighborhood restaurant from Chef Nick Leahy, is opening in West Midtown next week, according to a press release Thursday. Nick’s Westside will debut Tuesday, October 13, at 956 Brady Ave NW STE 100, in space currently operating as Aix and Tin Tin, the French Provençal restaurant and wine bar that Leahy opened in 2018. Aix and Tin Tin will close after Saturday night service.

“The most important thing to us, and something that has become even clearer in recent times, is our family and community, including our local farmers and producers,” Leahy said in the release. “Nick’s Westside is driven by that support, and we plan to bring the best our region has to offer to our guests, including products from local farmers, producers, distillers, brewers, roasters, and more. In return, we hope this new direction will provide our West Midtown community with a relaxed place to gather and make memories.”

Not much is expected to change in terms of the actual 6,000-square-foot space’s look and feel with the exception of a few redesigned and added elements by local design firm Starling Studio — like indoor patio activities and a wall where patrons can sign their names.

On the menu will be Southern-centric small plates and bowls, all made with local and sustainable ingredients — think grass-fed burger, pork belly bao bun, grain bowls, and a smoked Georgia short rib sandwich. On occasion, Leahy will resurface dishes from Aix seasonally. Beverage director Matt Gibbons’ program will include local beers on rotation and “classic cocktails with a twist.”
