Okiboru’s newest location at 3614 Satellite Blvd opened yesterday, according to a post on the restaurant’s official Instagram page. Operating hours are currently Tuesday through Sunday, from 5-9pm.

Okiboru – which got its start in Los Angeles before opening a second location in Sandy Springs – specializes in ramen, and more specifically tsukemen, or “dipping ramen,” in which the noodles are served separately from the broth and, as the name suggests, are meant to be dipped. Incidentally, despite being recognized in the 2019 Michelin Guide for California and earning a spot on the California Bib Gourmand list, the LA location has since closed.

Nevertheless, the restaurant was able to franchise in Atlanta, opening its first and, until yesterday, only location in Sandy Springs in 2019. Back in March, What Now Atlanta reported that the restaurant was also leasing a space in Buckhead, however, opening details for that remain to be seen.

As the only ramen joint in both Atlanta and Los Angeles to make the Michelin Bib Gourmand List, Okiboru’s signature broth and noodles are a testament to the fact founders Just Lim, Bobby Jung, and Hyun Park trained in the art of tsukemen in Japan, where they mastered their craft before introducing it to the states.
