The Great Cupcake Company — ‘Atlanta’s first & only all natural, 70 percent organic & vegan friendly cupcake bakery’ — opens next Friday.
The Great Cupcake Company, a bakery that utilizes organic ingredients like flour from a North Dakota mill, is opening in Buckhead.
After launching the bakery online in September of last year, Steve Woodruff has spent the past nine months prepping the Bukchead storefront.
The 2,000-square-foot bakery at 2829 Peachtree Road is scheduled to open next Friday, June 17 in space formerly occupied by 79th Street Rug Shop, according to Woodruff.
“I don’t think anyone else uses ingredients as fresh as we do,” Woodruff told What Now Atlanta in an interview Saturday.
The Great Cupcake Company will use organic flour from a mill in North Dakota, organic sugar, local and regional fresh fruit where available, all natural flavors, never artificial, he said.
“The flour we use is so fine, it’s like baby powder,” Woodruff said.
The space, which has seats for 15, can be described as a “modern, retro fusion.”
We asked Woodruff how his cupcakes rate compared to CamiCakes which is opening their second Atlanta-area location in Vinings and has a Buckhead location.
“Our product is better,” Woodruff said. “When you start with better ingredients, you end up with a better product.”

Interesting. I’ll try it, why not? Where will people park?
