A permit application filed for 955 Marietta St. in Atlanta shows the intent for a new restaurant, Palo Santo, to build-out the existing white box space. Palo Santo has no connection to the Brooklyn, NY eatery of the same name, which has been in operation for 15 years.

According to the permit application, Palo Santo Atlanta intends to build out a new bar, kitchen, restrooms, and storage space on the first level of the building. The eatery will renovate the building’s second level into a bar with covered and uncovered dining space. The estimated cost of construction is $500,000.00.

Lulo Design Studio drafted renderings of the proposed space. The images show high ceilings, gray brick walls, large light fixtures, and a full bar. The upstairs bar will be open air, with terrace seating as well as bar seating. Lulo Design characterizes the look as boho-chic.

The permit does not specify if the address is for West Marietta street, however Domino’s is located at 955 Marietta St. NW, so the permit is likely for the West Marietta St. space that last housed Do at the View. No word yet on when Palo Santo will open to the public, so you’ll want to check back in for details on the eatery’s opening timeline.

Correction: An earlier version of the article erroneously stated Palo Santo will likely replace Domino’s at 955 Marietta St. NW.

  • I am pretty sure this application is for 955 W Marietta St instead of 955 Marietta. Dominoes is still open and it’s second floor is just a roof with HVAC units. 955 W Marietta used to be pizza joint called Do @ The View.

Beyond the second floor I was thrown off by the roof in the renders as that looks very King Plow-y. I have no doubt marketing team would render a fake view also from the rooftop but that view will actually be real from 955 W Marietta. They have been gutting and rebuilding the space over last 18 months but hadn’t heard any news on a tenant.
