Panera Bread is closing its Peachtree Square restaurant, a manager for the restaurant in a telephone conversation Sunday told What Now Atlanta.

Sept. 8, 2019, will be the sandwich and salad chain’s last day in business, at 2274 Peachtree Street NW Suite A, they confirmed.

The 4,400-square-foot endcap suite with a 600-square-foot patio will be available for lease starting in December 2019, according to a listing for the space.

A restaurant shuffle is underway in the immediate area.

Hopkins and Co is closing Holman and Finch across the street and is relocating the burger joint to Colony Square.

Restaurant Eugene, also situated across the street from Panera Bread, closed in August and will soon reopen as Eugene and Elizabeth’s.

Panera Bread Peachtree Square will be the second Buckhead location for the chain to close in less than a year.

Lenox Square Mall had an outpost until it shuttered in December 2018.

Panera Bread in the Powers Ferry Square shopping center, at 3714 Roswell Road NE, is the last remaining Buckhead outpost for the company.
