An experienced local pastry chef is baking up a new destination for beverages and sweet treats.
Bar ANA is planned for 939 Ponce De Leon Avenue NE in the space formerly occupied by El Bar. The late-night spot is expected to serve breakfast pastries and coffee during the day followed by cocktails, snacks and desserts at night. It is expected to be open until 2 a.m. during weekends, giving Atlantans an option for late-night bites and beverages.
The concept comes from Claudia Martinez, a James Beard Award-nominated pastry chef who has experience at several Atlanta establishments, including as the executive pastry chef at Miller Union and Tiny Lou’s.
Atlantans might also be familiar with her creations through the pop-up called Café Claudia. Bar ANA is her first brick-and-mortar endeavor.
With the launch of the new concept, Martinez has created ANA Hospitality Group with an unnamed business partner. Bar ANA is also a collaboration with Rosa Thurnher, the owner of El Ponce.
Martinez told What Now Atlanta they are targeting a June 2025 opening for Bar ANA.
