Pending approval, a new restaurant will soon be joining the neighborhood at 2 Interlock Ave NW in Atlanta.
Based on applications filed with the city this month, Inspire Restaurant Group is planning significant construction work to turn the 4,000-square-foot vacant space into Lock and Key Restaurant.
Mario Johnson, a managing partner at Atlanta-based Peters Street Restaurant Group, is listed as the owner of the restaurant. Peters Street owns several restaurants in the downtown Atlanta area on Peters St. including 255 Tapas Lounge and The Spinning Pie. Johnson is also the owner of The Beverly, a restaurant and sports bar located in Grant Park.
According to existing floor plans, the restaurant will be rather expansive and include a full kitchen, bar, and outdoor seating.
In speaking with What Now Atlanta, Johnson said his new concept is “going to be a high end sports bar”.
Editor’s note: This article has been updated with comments from Johnson. The mention of Michael Gidewon, who was erroneously included in project plans, has been removed.
