Philly ‘G’ Steak, a new quick-service Philadelphia-style cheesesteak eatery, is opening soon in the Sweet Auburn Curb Market.

It is set to replace Bell Street Burritos which closed its doors in the Edgewood Avenue food hall Friday.

Construction is underway converting the nine-year-old burrito joint, at 209 Edgewood Avenue SE, into Philly ‘G’ Steaks, a Sweet Auburn Curb Market representative Friday told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in a telephone interview.

The buildout is expected to last a few weeks and the new restaurant is anticipating an early-July debut.

Cheesesteaks won’t make up the entire menu.

There will also be “authentic Mexican” dishes, the representative said.

“Coming Soon” signage at the space confirms the cuisine mashup.

Apparently, Bell Street’s chef is staying with the stall and will prepare and serve more “authentic” versions of what the burrito joint offered.

Quentin Brown, the owner of Philly ‘G’ Steak, is a Pennsylvania native.

He did not respond to WNA’s request for comment.
