Dessert retailer files plans for second store.
Restauranteur Mims Bledsoe is moving forward with plans to open a second Pie Shop, despite a failed attempt to raise $35,000 through crowd funding on Kickstarter.
Bledsoe submitted a building permit application to City of Atlanta Monday to convert retail space, at 1037 N. Highland Avenue, into The Pie Shop.
The dessert store will replace the now-shuttered Honey Butter Boutique, a 3,000-square-foot space.
The Pie Shop’s flagship location is in Buckhead at 3210 Roswell Road. The second store in Virginia-Highland should open in November, according to the bakery’s website.
There has been a ‘Stop Work’ order yellow sticker from the city on the front door since June so I imagine that they weren’t properly permitted. Hope they have a permit expediter – that process can take 3 months.
Thanks for spreading the word! Yes, we have been delayed and trying to find a way to move forward. Yesterday we submitted plans to the city. Cross your fingers!
