Marcel Steakhouse will replace Abattoir in West Midtown.

Ford Fry’s latest concept Marcel Steakhouse is full steam ahead.

Plans were filed Wednesday with City of Atlanta for the European-inspired restaurant, at 1170 Howell Mill Road, in space formerly belonging to Anne Quatrano’s Abattoir. Quatrano shuttered the seven-year-old White Provisions District eatery March 28.

Fry will remodel the dining area and restrooms but will leave the bar and kitchen as is.

An estimated $200,000 will be spent making the commercial alterations to the nearly 5,000-square-foot restaurant space on the Westside for the new steakhouse.

Marcel will be Fry’s eighth greater metro-Atlanta area restaurant. Fry owns and operates Jct. Kitchen, King + Duke, The Optimist, No. 246, The El Felix, Superica, and St. Cecilia.
