Nonprofit to provide grants to restaurant community ‘facing unanticipated hardship.’

The Giving Kitchen (TGK), a nonprofit that provides grants to members of Atlanta’s restaurant community “facing unanticipated hardship,” is moving forward with plans for a brick and mortar, at 541 Edgewood Ave.

A building permit application was submitted to City of Atlanta Friday to convert space in Old Fourth Ward into the nonprofit, located on the second floor of the soon-to-open Staplehouse, the restaurant whose profits will help fund TGK.

TGK was founded during chef Ryan Hidinger’s fight against cancer, but the group’s goals quickly broadened to try and assist as many Atlanta restaurant professionals as possible.

For more information on TGK, and to learn how you can support the cause, visit the nonprofit’s website here.
