Healthy fast-casual chain Playa Bowls is heading to 265 18th St. NW, Unit 4120B, according to a recently filed permit. The brand will take over a 1,275-square-foot space at Atlantic Station.

Larry Trueheart is the franchisee behind the forthcoming spot, according to plans filed for the project. It appears that the interior design includes some table and counter seating.

The brand serves acai bowls, smoothies, juices and cold brews. The brand emphasizes the use of healthy, fresh ingredients.

Playa Bowls started as a cart serving acai bowls in 2014 in New Jersey. Since then, it has grown to more than 300 locations, with a strong presence in New Jersey and New York. Currently, the spot has seven locations in Georgia, including locations in Sandy Springs, Peachtree Corners, Alpharetta, Chamblee, Athens and Atlanta.

As of now, it is unclear when this Playa Bowls location will open. It appears that the spot is still in the early stages of development with construction on the way.
