Halcyon Tuesday announced Popbar has signed a deal to open its first Georgia franchise at the under-construction 135-acre mixed-use development in Forsyth.

Popbar is expected to debut with the grand opening of Halcyon, at 1400 McFarland Pkwy, on March 23, 2019.

Charel and Jamaal Palmer are the franchisees bringing Popbar to the development, which will include 480,000 square feet of office and retail space, a movie theater, two hotels, and 690 residential units, once completed.

“Our blend of customer obsession and the flavorful experience that Popbar creates is an experience not offered anywhere else in Georgia,” Charel said in the announcement.

“We are thrilled to be a part of the vision at Halcyon and can’t wait to share a mouthwatering experience!”

Out of its 540-square-foot shop “just off the retail village green space,” the frozen treats concept will serve 40 rotating flavors of gelato, sorbet, and yogurt pops.

A mobile cart will deliver pops around Halcyon and to events outside the village.

Other frozen treats include Hot Chocolate on a Stick, Frozen Hot Chocolate and the newest menu item, the PopWich, a gelato sandwich on a stick.

Popbar offers vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free and soy-free options, and currently has 19 stores around the country, 11 internationally, and five under construction.

Popbar plans to donate a portion of all proceeds to organizations in the area that benefit childhood education.
