Popular Atlanta pizzeria Phew’s Pies announced plans to close its doors this October. The restaurant, known for its inventive fusion pies, gained fame for its signature Lemon Pepper Wet pizza, a nod to Atlanta’s iconic lemon pepper wings.
Phew’s Pies Set to Close Doors this Month
A gourmet pizza concept, Phew’s Pies, was founded by Mathew Foster in 2020 at the peak of COVID. The restaurant introduced a 12-inch fusion of Southern flavors and Neapolitan-style pizzas that are handmade.
Some of the highlights include Oxtail & Ricotta, Hot Lemon Pepper Wet, Pesto, and Honey Hot pizza. Five years after its launch, the restaurant announced in a social media post that it would shut down on October 31.
“It’s with a heavy heart that I announce Phew’s Pies’ first retail location at the Atlanta Municipal Market will be closing October 31, 2025. I started Phew’s Pies during COVID in June 2020. These past five years have been nothing short of amazing,” the post read.
The restaurant extended its gratitude to the loyal patrons for their continued support over the years.
“Being able to serve and represent the greatest city on earth, Atlanta, has been one of my greatest gifts in life. To Atlanta and every person who has patronized Phew’s Pies, I am eternally grateful for your support,” the post continued. The restaurant did not reveal the reason for its closure.
Phew’s Pies to Continue Catering Events
In its announcement post, Phew’s Pies confirmed that it will continue offering catering services for corporate events and pizza parties through 2025.
“Phew’s Pies will continue to provide private catering events, including adult and children’s pizza parties, pizza-making classes, and corporate events throughout the remainder of 2025,” it said.
The restaurant also plans to host pop-up events through the fall and holiday season. The post invites fans for a few last slices and whole pies over the next two weeks at the Municipal Market.
Though Phew’s Pies will close its doors, its impact on Atlanta’s pizza scene will live on. The restaurant had become a local favorite, celebrated for its creative and flavorful pizza offerings.
