Randy Mercer in early June acquired Red Snapper Seafood Restaurant, at 2100 Cheshire Bridge Rd NE.

The seafood eatery hit the market in October 2018 for $299,000 but the purchase price was not disclosed.

Mercer brings with him 40 years of experience including a 16-year career with Atlanta-based Focus Brands and 18 years with Hardee’s before that, specializing in “multi-unit foodservice operations.”

It’s business as usual for the 33-year-old seafood eatery, Mercer in a telephone interview Tuesday told What Now Atlanta.

“Our chef, staff, and menu are the same,” Mercer said.

“I’m going to continue building on the existing, loyal clientele and on the existing success of this excellent restaurant.”

Minor “sprucing” to the space will take place over the next few months including a new outdoor awning and updates to Red Snapper’s “interior decorations.”

Mercer is also adding weekend brunch starting in October which will be served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

The restaurant is currently operating on a temporary liquor license and Mercer has a hearing on July 23 for the official permit.
