Salata is planning an outpost across the street from Ponce City Market.
The salad franchise is taking a corner space in the Midtown Place shopping center, at 650 Ponce de Leon Avenue NE.
Salata will replace the now-relocated Olive Bistro in suite 680-A, according to several permits submitted to the City of Atlanta last month.
On a visit to the space Friday What Now Atlanta (WNA) found signage being installed to the exterior announcing the restaurant as “coming soon.”
Construction to the 2,400-square-foot corner space is expected to cost north of $400,000.
Demolition is already underway and as of Friday, the space appears to be in “white box” status meaning its ready for tenant improvements.
The new restaurant will be owned and operated by Unbeleafable Holdings, a subsidiary of Henry Investment Group (HIG).
Dallas-based HIG has a franchise agreement to open at least 20 Salata locations in the Atlanta-area.
Jeff Hunter, VP of operations for HIG, confirmed the new Salata in an email to WNA.
Expect a September/October opening, he said.
Salata is the second restaurant to recently secure space in the Midtown Place shopping center which is anchored by The Home Depot, TJ Maxx, and Whole Foods Market.
