A new restaurant is headed to South Downtown. Salt and Pepper Kitchen is slated to open at 50 Upper Alabama Street at Underground Atlanta, just a few blocks from Atlanta City Hall and the Georgia Capitol Museum.

The new restaurant and bar will specialize in small plates and appetizers, as well as a few main courses like lamb chops and salmon. “The lamb chop is our specialty,” says co-owner Christopher Berry, who also co-owns seafood restaurant Sea Salt in Virginia-Highlands. “We’ll serve it in multiple different ways.”

Salt and Pepper Kitchen will have a full bar, and serve 8 specialty cocktails alongside the menu. As for the space, there will be indoor and outdoor dining, with the outdoor patio seating about 40 people, and around 30 seats inside.

Salt and Pepper Kitchen is expected to open in a few weeks, so head there as the July heat revs up and grab yourself a specialty cocktail (and a lamb chop, because why not?).

  • Dear millennials and new people to Atlanta metro region there is no such thing as a “south downtown.” This is a new made up term. Words you may use are 5pts, underground or Forsyth street….but South Downtown….nope does not exist.
