Another Whataburger appears to be in the works in the Peach State, this time in Spalding County.

The fast-food chain is planned for 1323 N Expressway in Griffin, according to construction documents. The approximately 3,620-square-foot restaurant would be a “wood-framed structure with a carefully designed layout, incorporating the brand’s signature colors and logo,” according to the plans. The existing building at the site, formerly a seafood restaurant called Amazing Crabs, is expected to be demolished.

The new Whataburger comes from Made to Order Holdings, according to the documents. The franchise group operates several existing and upcoming Whataburger restaurants in Georgia.

Founded in 1950, Whataburger hails from Texas and has more than 1,000 locations. In addition to burgers, the menu includes chicken, fries, onion rings, salads and shakes.

Whataburger first opened in metro Atlanta in 2022 with a location in Kennesaw

Griffin is south of Atlanta.
