Another ground floor tenant of the Invesco Building has called it quits.

About a year after its initial opening, Sean’s Harvest Market has shuttered its Uptown location in the Invesco Building.

A sign is currently attached to the door announcing the closing, and the interior of the space has been cleared out.

The first original location on Amsterdam Avenue in Morningside (which is still in business and has several favorable ratings) originally opened in 2012. The Uptown location was an expanded version of the cafe, which seated 70 to 80 in a 1,600-square-foot space previously occupied by Joli Kobe Bakery.

LPC (formerly named La Pietra Cucina) also shuttered last year before Tavern Pointe moved into the space.

The news may not surprise very many, as the units at the problematic location complex aren’t close enough to the sidewalk to capitalize off of substantial foot traffic. One could also argue that the inconvenient parking didn’t match the the grab-and-go style of the eatery.

  • Well, judging by the Bavaria Yachts store next door, it might be better to have a similar business close-by. Maybe a Tesla showroom, or a high-end art dealer. Or perhaps the yacht store should go and some quick, fast-casual shops should open up in their place. There are a few office buildings nearby, and one is right next door. I’m sure these people need to eat somewhere!
