Fast-growing restaurant franchise The Original Hot Dog Factory will next land in Lee + White’s 13-stall food hall in the West End, marking the second-known tenant for the upcoming food and beverage venue.

Working with Gary Woodward, senior vice president, JLL tenant and landlord representation, Franchisee Joia Evans last week secured a lease for the Lee + White food hall, Woodward told What Now Atlanta in an email Friday. Evans has not responded to multiple requests for comment.

The Original Hotdog Factory will join Honeysuckle Gelato and 11 other restaurant tenants in the upcoming food hall, several of which are expected to be announced any day. Lee + White investment partners Ackerman & Co. and MDH Partners in January announced that leasing representative Kelly Wilson is in “ongoing negotiations” to add a variety of “chef-driven and best-in-concept” brands to the food hall.

The Original Hot Dog Factory now has 24 locations open including seven in Atlanta, three in Philadelphia, two in New York, and others in Columbus, Houston, Birmingham, Anniston, Charlotte, Memphis, and New Jersey. Locations in Miami, Cleveland, Augusta, Athens, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Detroit, and Phoenix are underway, according to a press release earlier this month.

The restaurant serves specialty hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, french fries, onion rings, milkshakes, and more.

Dennis McKinley founded The Original Hot Dog Factory in 2010 but was rebranded and revamped in 2015. “At the Original Hot Dog Factory, we offer a wide variety of mouthwatering hot dogs that will make you ask for more,” McKinley said in the release. “We are looking forward to sharing this deliciousness all over the country.”

Acquired by MDH Partners and Ackerman & Co. in September 2019, Lee + White is a redevelopment of the former “Warehouse Row” buildings located at the intersection of Lee and White streets, comprising 11 buildings and totaling 433,204 square feet. Master plans for ongoing phases of development at Lee + White were announced last May. The initial phase of the development brought a number of innovative food and beverage tenants that have built loyal followings, including Monday Night Brewing, Wild Heaven Beer, Boxcar, Best End Brewing, ASW Distillery, Cultured South and Hop City Craft Beer & Wine. Additional tenants at Lee + White include Plywood, a non-profit co-working space, and the bouldering gym The Overlook.
