Slutty Vegan’s Pinky Cole has been incredibly busy since opening up their first brick-and-mortar in Jan. 2019 and two new locations in Old Fourth Ward and Jonesboro just this year. Now the plant-based banner signed itself on for a liquor license, introducing a new concept: Bar Vegan. This new vegan pub will be replacing The Mercury in Ponce City Market’s Central Food Hall at 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE.

After presenting Bar Vegan before a neighborhood planning unit meeting Monday, Cole got approval to move forward with this new venture that will serve beer, wine, and liquor products. According to the license docs, Bar Vegan will be an open-air cafe setting. Cole also attended a meeting on Tuesday before the Atlanta License Review Board to request a license for liquor, beer, and wine to be consumed on-premises for their 476 Edgewood Avenue Old Fourth Ward Slutty Vegan location.

Slutty Vegan has come a long way in a short amount of time, after first operating as a social media-run delivery service just two years ago and then eventually becoming a food truck. What Now Atlanta reached out to Cole regarding Bar Vegan, but Cole has yet to comment. According to the lease, Bar Vegan has a move-in date of Feb 1, 2021.

    • can you please share the 401 on how wines are not vegan? and how eating the most processed vegan food is good for you?

      • Wine is traditionally made with animal byproducts to help round out and smoothen flavor profiles, but there are substitutes. Also anything processed is bad for you for sure, but I think her goal was to create vegan comfort food. Vegans like to pig out too! Im tired of fries hahaha.

Signed, My two cents nobody asked for. 🙂
