Chase Bank to be built on land formerly barbecue joint
Chase Bank is opening their newest branch on Cheshire Bridge Road.
The bank will open on land formerly occupied by Sonny’s Real Pit Bar-B-Q.
Located at 2350 Cheshire Bridge road, the barbecue joint near Lindbergh Drive was demolished this week in preparation of the new Bank.
Sonny’s closed in 2009 and has set vacant since. The restaurant’s parent company filed for bankruptcy shortly before their closure.
Though demolition is wrapping up this week, there currently isn’t a time line for construction.
So what’s the deal?
Former restaurant spaces are becoming kitchen appliance showrooms and banks.

Chase is also taking over the old Linen-N-Things space on Peachtree in Buckhead.
There is a Chase Bank within this plaza already so while this is their newest branch, it’s replacing the one located right behind it.
A bank? How unimaginative. There is already a Wachovia/Wells Fargo right across the street. The Varsity closed a few months ago. The area
needs more good restaurants not a bank.
I’ve been in and around Atl for over 10 years now and ummm….. there was a Sonny’s on Cheshire Bridge?
The last thing atlanta needs is another bank…or another mexican restaurant, asian restaurant, hamburger joint, or another drug store…
GOOD! The food sucked anyway. Horrible!
lived in the archstone complex just next door for the last year, was wondering what was gonna become of that plot. one day i notice they started boarding up the windows on it, then suddenly, as my roommate and i are moving out to a complex nearer to lindbergh station, it’s gone!
