Southern Roots located at 15 Griffin Street, McDonough, Georgia 30252 was recently sold by Steve Josovitz of The Shumacher Group, Inc for $2M. ‌‌It was due to the owner’s relocation that this profitable restaurant was sold in mint condition.

New owner Matt Tognazzini says he plans to continue operations with no major changes just yet. “We are getting some feedback from staff and the community to see where improvements can be made,” Tognazzini said.

The 10,000 sq. ft. fully-equipped Tavern and Eatery is two levels and seats over 550 guests. ‌Ford Motor Company used to occupy the building in the 1800s. It‌ ‌retains‌ ‌its‌ ‌old‌ ‌charm‌ ‌with‌ ‌reclaimed‌ ‌wood‌ ‌bar‌ ‌tops‌ ‌and tables.

There are two full bars at Southern Roots, plus live music every Friday and Saturday night. “We have karaoke and open mic night during the week. We will also remain an event venue for weddings, class reunions, etc.,” Tognazzini said.

Southern Roots is open Tuesday through Saturday for lunch and dinner. They serve such delights as Mushroom Swiss Burgers, Nashville Fried Chicken Sandwiches,‌ ‌Atlanta‌ ‌Cider‌, and‌ ‌Stella‌ ‌Artois.
