Something sweet is coming to Sharpsburg this fall.
Parlor Doughnuts is planned for 3500 GA-34 at the Thomas Grace Plaza shopping center, marking the donut chain’s first location in Coweta County and its second in Georgia. The first is located in Columbus.
The shops offer more than 20 flavors of their signature layered donuts, offering some vegan, keto and gluten-friendly options to cater to a variety of diets and preferences. The proprietary product features layers of buttery dough fried to be crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. Flavors include Lemon Bar, French Toast, Maple Pecan, Churro and more, with seasonal varieties.
The menu also includes specialty coffee beverages and other breakfast items like avocado toast, açaí bowls, and breakfast tacos and sandwiches. There are treats for furry friends too, with Dog Doughnuts on the menu.
Jay Wilson, also the owner of the Columbus shop, told What Now Atlanta they are targeting a mid-August or mid-September opening for the upcoming Sharpsburg location. They plan to open at least three more locations in the metro Atlanta area, likely in north Atlanta areas like Roswell, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody or Woodstock.
“Hopefully we can get that off the ground in the future, but right now we are focused on getting Sharpsburg open,” he said.
Parlor Doughnuts began in Evansville, Indiana. Founder Darrick Hayden launched a coffee shop in 2015 called Proper Coffee with his son, Noah, which eventually led to the concept of Parlor Doughnuts. They launched Parlor Doughnuts in 2019 in partnership with Josh Tudela. There are now more than 70 locations in 17 states.
“We look forward to getting open in Sharpsburg and sharing our donuts and coffee with the Coweta County people,” Wilson said. “We’re trying to get it open as fast as we can and be great.”
Once they open their doors, he recommends the Peanut Butter Cup.
“You can’t go wrong with chocolate and peanut butter,” he said.
