The commuter apparel retail shop for bikers is planning an adjoined restaurant concept.
The Spindle Atlanta, an “urban commuter apparel shop” that manufactures its own line of wares for bikers, has plans to add a restaurant component to its Studioplex operation.
The shop opened its Studioplex doors, at 659 Auburn Ave NE #506 replacing the now-shuttered Spice to Table, after relocating from John Wesley Dobbs Avenue in April, according to the company’s Facebook page.
Sharif Hassan, “bro-owner” at The Spindle Atlanta, in an email to What Now Atlanta this week confirmed plans to open a restaurant in the Old Fourth Ward space.
“Currently we’re getting things organized, finalized and dialed in,” Hassan said. “As we draw closer to the opening date we’ll reach out and fill you in on all the details.”
Commuter retail shops with a dining component seem to be a rising trend.
Cafe + Velo, “Atlanta’s first and only establishment that specifically caters to the cycling/pedestrian communities,” opened late-2016.
The shop offers coffee, baked goods, sandwiches, bike rentals and parts, and bocce, among other things.
The DWRC Group is working with The Spindle Atlanta in developing the concept. Details as they unfold…
