Construction will soon begin on the Starbucks planned for the ground-level of The Standard, at 708 Spring Street.

A permit application late last week was filed with the City of Atlanta to build out the coffee shop in the 19-story student housing project.

The forthcoming Starbucks will offer a drive-thru and could open as early as December 2018, according to a representative for The Standard.

Starbucks was previously located where the student housing development now stands.

It was razed along with several other low-slung commercial buildings to make way for the 257 furnished residences.

Before it was a Starbucks, the building was occupied by Arby’s.

Construction on The Standard topped out in March 2018 and students are expected to start move-ins mid-September.
