Coffee shop inside AmericasMart to open temporary cafe during construction.

Starbucks is overhauling one of its Downtown locations.

The coffee retailer submitted an application for a building permit to City of Atlanta Friday to renovate its store, at 240 Peachtree Street.

Starbucks will spend an estimated $200,000 to remodel its location situated inside AmericasMart next to Ray’s in the City.

The 2,162-square-foot coffee house will close “sometime in August,” a shift manager at the Starbucks told What Now Atlanta in a telephone interview Sunday.

Starbucks will have a “booth” outside of the coffee shop while it is closed for renovations, he said.

  • Interesting — I hope this means there’ll be more seating! Just today I had to use the Starbuck inside the Westin hotel because there was no place to sit in this pretty tiny Peachtree Street location. Looking forward to seeing what they do with it.
