Asim Walker, the restaurateur behind Buckhead’s APT 4B and former restaurant concept Negril Village, is bringing a new concept — Station 11 — to 30 North Ave. NW in Midtown, according to liquor license paperwork filed with the neighborhood planning unit.
Station 11’s name is a nod to the history of the building, an old firehouse along North Avenue. Walker told What Now Atlanta that the space will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner and will fully open around the end of March. Once he acquires the liquor license, he also plans to open a speakeasy in the basement of the building.
The restaurant will emphasize Caribbean-Asian fusion in its menu offerings. Breakfast and lunch hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Signature offerings for breakfast and lunch include their oxtail sandwich as well as a robust coffee program featuring a partnership with Stone Mountain-based Gilly Brew Bar.
The design of the 3,300-square-foot space features 1900s charm with modern touches.
“There’s a lot of beautiful, rich mill work, and we’ve kept a lot of that intact,” Walker said.
Ultimately, Walker hopes to make Station 11 a long-term home for his brand. He hopes it will inject some fresh flavors into an area of Midtown that could benefit from additional culinary options.
“We definitely want to feed and give the local community an experience,” Walker said. “I just want to provide great food of my culture and experience to Greater Atlanta. This Caribbean-Asian fusion takes two familiar foods and two comfort foods and presents them in a new and exciting way. [I want to] provide a third space of guidance, music and culture.”
