An upscale family-owned steakhouse and bar is working on its first restaurant in the Peach State.

Bowdie’s Chophouse is coming to the Eastern Wharf development in Savannah in a space at 301 Passage Way. This would be the fifth location for the concept, which currently has three restaurants in Michigan and one in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Scott Bowdish founded Bowdie’s Chophouse. The entrepreneur owned several cellular stores that he sold in 2013. His passion for dining, and steak in particular, led him to open the first Bowdie’s Chophouse in Saugatuck, Michigan, in 2014.

In addition to steak, the menu includes soup and salad along with specialty items like escargot, ceviche and seared pork belly. A full wine selection and signature craft cocktails make up the beverage program.

According to the company website, the Savannah location is expected to open in 2025.
