Sweet Stack Creamery, an ice cream sandwich shop and dessert bar, later this year will open downtown in the City Walk Apartments.

Partners and friends Mo Taha, Troy Lawrence, and Adine Puce, earlier this week filed plans with the City of Atlanta for Sweet Stack in suite C of the development near Georgia State University, at 171 Auburn Avenue.

“It’s a fun and new creative way for Atlantans to enjoy ice cream sandwiches,” Taha Thursday told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in a telephone interview.

Customers choose a base—doughnuts, cookies, cones—a “hand-crafted” ice cream flavor, and toppings to boot.

The “holeless” doughnuts used are locally produced and have a glaze similar to Krispy Kreme, he said.

“You pick it, top it, and then we heat it.”

Once the sandwich is assembled, Taha and his team will lightly toast the outside so the “base” is warm with a cold, ice cream center.

The 1,054-square-foot space could open as early as mid-to-late-June, pending the permitting process.

“Atlanta is the perfect breeding ground for Sweet Stack, especially with the proximity to students.”
