UPDATE (February 11, 2019): Old Fourth Ward’s Taco Cantina Hits The Market

Smryna-based Taco Cantina has officially opened in the Old Fourth Ward.

The family-owned Mexican style restaurant quietly debuted Monday, December 11, in space previously occupied by Baked. Baked closed its doors early 2017.

“It is official! We are open,” the restaurant Monday announced on its Facebook page.

“Please come join us for dinner in the Old Fourth Ward. An extended menu, specialty drinks, and great atmosphere! 5-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 5 – 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. See you soon!”

The restaurant situated in the Tribute Lofts, at 480 John Wesley Dobbs Avenue NE, serves up Mexican street tacos, tortas, and burritos, according to its website.

The condominium building is also home to Condesa Coffee.

Taco Cantina’s original Smyrna outpost celebrated its grand opening in summer 2015 replacing Lucky 13 Pizzeria.

Wife-and-husband team Brianna and Adolfo Gonzales are actively scouting Alpharetta, Buckhead, and Marietta, among other places, for a third location.
