UPDATE (May 17, 2018): This statement was provided to What Now Atlanta by a Concentrics Resturant spokesperson Thursday afternoon: “It’s been an extraordinary run at TAP over the past 10 years. We greatly appreciate the support and patronage we have received, not only from the Midtown community but from Atlantans and visitors alike. Our lease was up for renewal and we decided to continue to focus on new concepts and the steady growth of our concept development business in Atlanta and across the country. We look forward to sharing exciting announcements in the coming months.”
Tap Gastropub is closing its Midtown doors for good May 20.
Tenants of the 1180 Peachtree development where the restaurant has been situated for ten years received notice of the closure in an email Wednesday.
Attached to the email was an invite for Tap Gastropub’s “Last Call” event scheduled for Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“All good things must come to an end,” according to the invite.
“Our lease is up and Tap is closing. As a thank you for being a great neighbor, we will be hosting a happy hour for the building.”
Nothing is set to replace the Concentrics Restaurants concept but “we have some exciting interest,” Amy Fingerhut, first vice president for CBRE, the firm handling retail leasing for 1180 Peachtree, in an email Wednesday told What Now Atlanta.
“Hope to have a fabulous and fresh new option at 1180 Peachtree in the coming months to announce.”
Tap Gastropub’s outpost in Concourse A of the Atlanta Airport remains open.
