Canda-based Thai Express is expanding to Atlanta with its third-ever United States franchise location. The first is situated in Minnesota’s Mall of America and the second earlier this month opened in Decatur.

The quick-service Thai concept will be situated in the forthcoming West Midtown Center development, representatives from Fuqua, the project’s landlord, confirmed in an email to What Now Atlanta.

West Midtown Center, anchored by Kroger, will be home to concept’s like Chipotle, Blaze PizzaMcAlister’s Deli, and a storage facility.

Shyna Salim, the franchisee bringing the MTY Group concept to Atlanta, is in the permitting process with the city to build out the new Thai Express in suite 720 of building 700.

An estimated $250,000 will be spent constructing the first generation, 1,500-square-foot restaurant.

Salim was not immediately available to comment on the project.

Fuqua’s Peachtree Corners development will also get a Thai Express, and a third yet-to-be-disclosed Atlanta-area location is also in the works.
