The Abby Singer, a new eatery from film and television creative-turned-restaurateur Mike Horn, is slated to open at the forthcoming Pratt Pullman District in Kirkwood, the Atlanta Business Chronicle Tuesday first reported (paywall.)

A permit filing with the City of Atlanta for a $175,000 buildout to the 1,700-square-foot space, confirms the plans.

The restaurant and bar’s namesake doubles as a film-industry term that is used to describe the second-to-last shot of the day, as well as the name of the late film production manager Abner E. “Abby” Singer.

Diners can expect open-’til-late night bites with South-by-Midwest influences and specials centered around television and film motifs amidst the railyard’s collection of television and movie sound stages.

Construction fences went up the week of February 25 at the site and the opening is expected for summer 2020.

The Abby Singer will join confirmed dining tenants Bellsmouth Cafe and 3 Heart Coffee Roastery at the 27-acre mixed-use project, both of which are from the team behind 8Arm.
