The Busy Bee, which has been open in Atlanta since 1947, will be opening a new location in The Mitchell at Centennial Yards in 2027, according to a recent social media announcement.

“We’re extremely proud to welcome The Busy Bee, a legacy restaurant that represents the very best of Atlanta’s history, and hospitality,” Brian McGowen, president of Centennial Yards Company, said in the announcement.

This location for the Southern restaurant will feature a new fast-service format for The Busy Bee. It will also roll out a full cocktail, beer and wine menu.

“Centennial Yards lets us honor our Downtown Atlanta roots while welcoming new guests to the neighborhood,” owner Tracy Gates said in the announcement.

The Busy Bee last spring announced plans for another new location at Atlantic Station. That location is expected to open this year.

The menu for The Busy Bee features soul food and Southern dishes, including fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, collard greens and banana pudding.

Other tenants are on the way to Centennial Yards, as well. The 26 Thai team is bringing Khao Thai Isan to The Mitchell this year. New York-based The Irish Exit has also taken a lease at Centennial Yards.
