UPDATE [3/15/2016]: The Cowfish has announced it will open in April 2016.

Marcus Hall, the restauranteur behind Charlotte-based The Cowfish, has plans to open an Atlanta location later this year.

“We like the Atlanta market because it’s close to Charlotte,” Marcus told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in a telephone conversation earlier this week.

The restaurant that serves sushi burgers will replace Goldfish near Perimeter Mall. Goldfish is slated to close its doors, at 4400 Ashford Dunwoody Road, for good May 31.

The Cowfish Atlanta should open in the first quarter of 2016, according to Hall.

This will be the eatery’s fourth restaurant. The Cowfish has locations in Charlotte, Raleigh, and Orlando in Universal’s City Walk.
