Venue to join adaptive-reuse in Atlanta’s industrial west side.
The Masquerade, which is getting ready to skedaddle from its longtime home in Old Fourth Ward, is moving westward.
Curbed reports that the venue will move into a new home inside a large low-rise building in the 1400 block of Fairmont Avenue.
Randy E. Pimsler, a principal at Pimsler Hoss Architects, is heading the renovation. The firm is also behind The Jane in Grant Park.
Pimsler told Curbed that The Masquerade will be one of a few tenants at the adaptive-reuse development.
A LoopNet listing from 2012 indicates that the ceilings of the building are 19 feet tall, and the space is sized at roughly 80,000 square feet.
The Masquerade will close at its current location after The Wrecking Ball ATL 2016, which takes place August 13 and 14. Plans call for the new Westside venue to open the very next week on the weekend of August 20.
Nearby, Brock Built Homes is working on a 36-home residential project called “West Town.” Prices for the single family detached homes begin in the $550,000s.
North + Line, a mixed use project, will replace The Masquerade at its current location. The venue has occupied the property since 1989.

Do you think this is a good location for The Masquerade? Tell us below…
I was hoping they’d rebuild something similar to the original layout but bigger with more seating then the actual masquerade has now with alot more parking…however it’s about the same distance in the said chosen area so I’m okay with this!
So, what is going to happen to the building that the Masquerade currently is in? Its a historical site.
