As franchisees Jay Mathis and Cynthia Lee prepare to open their first location for The Pickle Pad and adjoining restaurant Crave Social Eatery in Marietta, the duo is preparing to expand further in the area.
The initial location will open next summer, but the team plans to open four locations in the area. The next neighborhood they plan to target are Kennesaw, The Battery and Sandy Springs.
Mathis and Lee were attracted to The Pickle Pad franchise because it incorporates both pickleball and social and culinary elements.
“Most of the franchise models that are out there are very keyed to providing courts and courts only. That didn’t really sit well with me — I felt like it needed to be a more well-rounded product offering,” Mathis told What Now Atlanta in a recent interview. “I found The Pickle Pad, and the model they are going after is to find an entire family entertainment experience.”
Crave Social Eatery offers chef-driven meals, including mozzarella sticks, wings, smoothies, street tacos, sandwiches, burgers and flatbreads. The beverage offerings include signature cocktails, bottled and draft beers, seltzers and wine.
The Pickle Pad also offers social games to further facilitate connection and community.
Further locations around Atlanta are still in the early stages of conceptualization and will likely roll out over the coming years.
