The Decatur gastropub completes expansion ahead of its five-year anniversary.

The Pinewood, the Decatur Gastropub from the team behind The Mercury and Proof Old Fashioned Cocktail Syrups, announced Thursday the opening of a new full-service lounge portion of The Pinewood.

Including expanded private dining capabilities for intimate dinners or large group parties, the new space will serve as an additional area for enjoying The Pinewood’s craft cocktails and eats.

The Pinewood team worked alongside Atlanta’s Square Feet Studio to conceptualize the additional 1,700 square feet, expanding into the shuttered Decatur Bikes space.

“After the success of The Mercury at Ponce City Market, we’re thrilled to be working again with Brooks and his team on the expansion of The Pinewood in Decatur,” Vivian Bencich, Founding Principal, Square Feet Studio, said in the release.

The expansion, announced late-2016, comes on the heels of The Pinewood’s five-year anniversary.

To celebrate five years of service, The Pinewood will host an anniversary celebration Tuesday, January 17, serving up $5 burgers and $5 old fashioneds, 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m
