Daniel Reed’s The Public Kitchen & Bar is moving forward with plans to open in Phipps Plaza.

The Savannah-based American eatery this week filed a permit application with City of Atlanta to buildout its 6,944-square-foot space in the luxury Buckhead mall, at 3500 Peachtree Street.

Simon Property Group, Phipps Plaza’s developer, first announced late-2016 The Public Kitchen & Bar would open in the mall.

Situated in suite 1095 B, an estimated $1,100,000 could be spent in construction costs for The Public Kitchen & Bar’s new location, according to the official filings.

Planned work to the space include interior demolition, new partitions and finishes, “alterations” to the existing kitchen, “modifications” to the existing facade, and a new outdoor patio space.

The concept, by Daniel Reed Hospitality, is a mid-century-inspired, “upscale casual eatery with farm-to-table offerings” and a rotating menu that will “evolve with the trends of the season.”
