Bad Dog Taqueria’s rebrand has shuttered less than two months after debuting in Emory Village.
Bad Dog Taqueria Dankbaar Taco, which first appeared in late February of this year, is now an empty storefront with a “For Lease” sign on display.
The casual Asian/Southern/Mexican fusion concept rebrand was quite possibly an effort to disassociate with the restaurant’s previous identity of Bad Dog Taqueria, whose owner was charged with first-degree homicide by vehicle, reckless driving, and two counts of hit-and-run last fall.
In February, General Manager Anthony Gould told What Now Atlanta that the company “is a corporation with several individuals that add equal value to the business,” and the “current owner” has “stayed on board as a creative cultivator as her skill sets and knowledge around food are a substantial asset to the business.”
It’s unclear when Dankbaar’s last day in business was, but Google already lists the restaurant, at 1579 N Decatur Road, as “permanently closed.”
No word yet on what (if anything) is going on with Bad Dog’s previously planned expansion to Old Fourth Ward.
File this under “At least they tried.”

Do you happen to know who the leasing agent is?
Andrew, the leasing agent is Ann Mijanovich. The number listed on the sign is 404-872-2828, Ext 6.

Good riddance! I’m happy that Atlantans did not spend money there if the owner/murderess was still on board. After hearing Mr. Gould’s comment, I felt sick to even pass by dankbaar. Stupid name too.
It amazes me with all the Emory staff, faculty, and students the amount of turnover in restaurants in Emory Village.
Tracy R Mitchell is a murderer and as far as I feel Anthony Gould is an accomplice. It shows his character that he still tried to excuse the actions and consign a vengeful, jealous, psychopathic maniac like Tracy. Justice will be served and any business that he attempts to start should be tarnished by the fact that he was underhanded enough to deceive the people of Atlanta by opening a business with the woman who murdered a 30 year old girl in cold blood. Calling her an unnamed “business associate” shame on you Anthony Gould!
