Thrive Farmers Coffee could soon begin construction on its newest ITP location inside the lobby of the $400 million Coda development near Georgia Tech, according to permits filed with the City of Atlanta Monday.

The Tech Square location, with construction costs estimated at $301,290, will build upon a farmer-direct model designed to empower its network of coffee producers by returning to growers a 50-75 percent of sales of the finished bean through a corporate contract, bringing farmers to market as partners with roasters, coffee houses, restaurants and retail grocers.

The Roswell, Ga.-based wholesale roaster was bolstered by a 2014 supply deal with the fast food chain Chick-fil-A.

In April 2019, Thrive opened its first retail store called Dairies Coffeehouse and Cold Brew Bar inside an approximately 2,000-square-foot space within the Atlanta Dairies urban renewal development in the Reynoldstown neighborhood of Atlanta.

The shop offers a multitude of coffee and tea drinks, along with a 14-tap cold brew bar.

The Coda location would be Thrive’s second brick and mortar in the region and will join previously announced food and beverage tenants Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream, El Burro Pollo Burrito Kitchen, Poke Burri, Aviva by Kameel and Wildleaf.
