Rapper Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr. who is better known as T.I. is planning something new next to his Trap Music Museum. Called TI Lounge, the new venture would open at 658 NW Northside Drive in a 4,200-square-foot, ground-floor space, previously homes to used car dealer World Premiere Auto Deals. A 10-year lease was secured for the concept.
What Now Atlanta (WNA) reached out to the broker involved in the leasing transaction, Usman Gandhi of Triton Properties, but was denied any details on the TI Lounge. WNA also contacted Trap Music Museum General Manager Krystal Garner but received no response back for an interview by the time of this article’s publication.
The Trap Music Museum is an interactive, experiential site that focuses on the rich culture of trap music, while providing a platform for emerging artists. The location also offers an escape room, called Escape the Trap. According to Curbed Atlanta, the museum features a to-scale replica of a convenience store, mock jail cell, “Grandma’s living room,” a replica crack cocaine cook site, 2 Chainz’s original pink car, and several artworks.
Atlanta’s finest…
Outstanding, this is the kind of history we need preserved and taught to the children. T.I. is a rock of the community, a fine young man, and someone praised by Mayor Keisha Fat Bottoms. Never mind he’s a felon and would probably still be in prison had he not snitched on someone. T.I. should be regarded as a local icon and a street should be named in his honor. Ponce de Leon sounds a little bit too European and we know European (White) automatically equals racist. MLK, John Lewis, Andrew Young, and T.I., all great leaders we, as Atlantans, should be proud of.
