tj's subs opening on marietta street downtown ~ what now, atlanta?

But Is One Sandwich Short Of A Picnic

Tj’s Subs, a sandwich franchise concept, has plans to open at 109 Marietta street, downtown near the Luckie Marietta District.

Launched in Atlanta, TJ’s Subs opened their first location at 620 Peachtree Street at the Windsor Over Peachtree in midtown.

In 2008, the concept was abandoned as the restaurant closed. Pita’s Republic, a quick service Mediterranean restaurant, now occupies the space.

After a 45 minute search of Marietta Street and quick visits to the Glen Hotel and Thrive (locations that should be relatively close to the new TJ’s Subs location), 109 Marietta Street was nowhere to be found. This address is listed in the building permit filed on August 18 for construction on the new TJ’s Subs.

Google maps does pull the address (street view here). However, the building shown is 101 Marietta Street which is the address for Thrive.

Call us crazy, but we’re not convinced that 109 Marietta Street exists (but if you find it, let us know).

Either way, a quick visit to TJ’s Subs website doesn’t seem very promising considering their old midtown location is the only location listed and the primary call-out on the homepage is for franchise opportunities. How can you franchise a failed restaurant concept that doesn’t exist?
