Ssam Burger, an American/Korean fusion restaurant, has been sold and will be rebranded into a new burger concept.
This week, Cassidy Jones acquired the business and lease for the 1,255-square-foot restaurant at 2072 Defoors Ferry Rd, NW #130.
Driss Senhaji of Atlanta Business Brokers LLC brokered the deal.
Jones plans to reopen it as LOL Burger Bar, a reference to the emoji, and internally for her staff, a reminder to “live out loud.”
“So, don’t be afraid to be who you are,” Jones said in a phone call Thursday. “Be the best version of yourself and basically live out loud. Be excited and be happy and be proud of who you are.”
LOL Burger Bar will serve burgers, wings, fries and boozy shakes. The burgers will have emoji-inspired names, including LOL Burger, WTF Burger and NSFW Burger.
“They’re all acronyms derived from the trend and popularity of social media,” she said.
“It’s going to be the same great service,” she added, saying the waitstaff from Ssam Burger is staying on. “We’re hoping everybody comes out once we open … I’m excited about getting started and seeing how people take to our burgers, because they are creative.”
For example, the NSFW Burger features a beef patty topped with cheese, macaroni and cheese, baked beans and bacon.
“So that’s why it’s ‘not safe for work’ because it’s got so much cheese,” she giggled. “So little things like that make this unique and original.”
Jones said she looks to reopen Dec. 19. Moving forward, she hopes to franchise the concept.
