The ‘NOLA-style spot with a Vietnamese twist’ is replacing Top FLR.
Darren Carr and Eric Simpkins, the team behind The Lawrence, in partnership with Hieu Pham of Buford Highway’s Crawfish Shack, are moving forward with plans to open Bon Ton, at 675 Myrtle Street NE.
The “NOLA-style spot with a Vietnamese twist” is scheduled to join Midtown January 10 in space formerly occupied by Top FLR, Atlanta Magazine Monday reported. Top FLR, another Carr concept, shuttered earlier this year to make way for Bon Ton.
Bon Ton’s menu is still in development, Carr told Atlanta Magazine, but guests can expect items like “smoked snow crab, charbroiled crab claw, Nashville hot oyster roll, and 5-spice broccoli,” all with a Vietnamese twist under the direction of Pham.
Bon Ton, which is adjacent to Papi’s Cuban & Caribbean Grill, will have seating for 80 and eventually a patio.

In related news, Carr and Simpkins were responsible for the overwhelmingly successful Miracle on Monore, a pop-up Christmas cocktail bar that was open during the 2016 holiday season in the Tapa Tapa restaurant space.
