Justin Lim, founder of Yoforia, announced in a press release Thursday that his newest concept Waffold will open for breakfast, lunch and dinner on Tuesday, July 31.

Waffold will serve a variety of sweet and savory waffle sandwiches, according to the release.

“As a hospitality entrepreneur, my goal is to stay on the forefront of food trends,” Lim said in the release.

“From frozen yogurt to waffle sandwiches, my passion lies in introducing new concepts and tastes to new markets. Atlanta’s diverse and progressive food culture makes the city a natural location to roll out innovative ideas, and I believe that diners will welcome the Waffold concept with great enthusiasm.”

Waffold’s signature Belgium waffles include the Cajun fried chicken waffle, featuring a crispy, hand-battered fried chicken breast with maple sweet chili sauce and creamy coleslaw which can be drizzled with pure maple syrup; the Waffold burger with a 5-ounce beef patty, Tillamook cheddar cheese, romaine lettuce, Roma tomatoes and mayo; and the veggies & cheese waffle with sautéed bell peppers and squash, crumbled feta cheese and garlic mayo.

On the sweet side, guests can choose from several dessert sammies such as the Belgian s’mores with dark chocolate, toasted marshmallows and graham cracker crumbles; ice cream sandwich sundae featuring vanilla ice cream, dark Belgian chocolate sauce and caramel sauce; and berries & lemon cream, prepared with a variety of berries and lemon sweet cream.

Along with the sandwich waffles, Waffold will serve the sweet Liège style prepared in the traditional street food style – hot and sprinkled with powdered sugar – for guests to experience another distinct Belgian waffle variety.

Waffold also offers salads and side items like crispy waffle fries; “Waffold nachos” – a bed of fresh waffle fries topped with nacho cheese, Applewood bacon, sour cream and chives; and Waffold chicken salad with romaine lettuce, almonds, Mandarin oranges and sesame vinaigrette.

Replacing the now shuttered Burger tap, at 1409 N. Highland Avenue, Waffold’s interior boasts wood beams, earth tones, Edison bulbs and metallic accents along with a plate glass window wall, the release notes.

Waffold is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and for Sunday brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
