Van Leeuwen Ice Cream has a second shop on the way to Georgia, according to its website. Fresh on the heels of debuting its first shop in the state at Ponce City Market earlier this month, the New York City-born ice cream brand has a second location in the works. The chain is heading to Park Place in Dunwoody next, with plans to open at 4505 Ashford Dunwoody Road.

Georgia marks the 11th state for the brand. Van Leeuwen also has locations in New York, California, New Jersey, Texas, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Florida, Tennessee and Washington, D.C. It is expanding in markets across the U.S.

“We’re so happy to finally bring Van Leeuwen to Atlanta,” Ben Van Leeuwen, co-founder and CEO of Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, said in a recent release. “Atlanta is such a great American southern city and we’ve had our eye on it for some time. Now that we’ve found a location that we love, we can’t wait to begin scooping our ice cream for our new neighbors.”

Ben and Pete Van Leeuwen and Laura O’Neill started the brand in a yellow ice cream truck in New York City in 2008. The brand focuses on simple ingredients and offers a variety of unique flavors such as dulce de leche brownie, peanut butter brownie honeycomb, buttermilk berry cornbread and lemon poppyseed muffin.

Currently, an exact timeline for the forthcoming Dunwoody location remains unclear. It is listed as “coming soon” on the website.
