Velvet Taco has set a concrete opening date in Buckhead.

The Dallas, Texas-based taqueria will debut Monday, September 9, according to a press release Monday.

Velvet Taco was originally aiming for an August 26 opening.

When the restaurant teased the August timeline on Facebook, Velvet Taco was still “waiting on some permit check-offs” from the City of Atlanta, a company spokesperson earlier this month told What Now Atlanta (WNA).

Those “permit check-offs” caused the two-week delay.

Velvet Taco will be open Monday 11 a.m. to 12 a.m., Tuesday and Wednesday 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., Thursday and Friday 11 a.m. to 3 a.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 a.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m.

An outpost next year is slated to open in West Midtown’s The Interlock mixed-use.
