New menu. New name. New interior. Same owner.

WASABi restaurant will close on Dec. 23 to re-open as Bottle Rocket on Dec. 31.

Located at 180 Walker street in Castleberry Hill, the restaurant currently serves sushi and offers a wine and sake lounge.

Nhan Le, WASABi owner, said that after being in business for five years, he and his staff have come to realize what his regulars want and are going to be making some major changes to meet those needs.

“I often find that in every group of diners, there’s always one person who just doesn’t like sushi,” Le said. “We are going to make the menu more diverse.”

Bottle Rocket’s menu will still include Sushi but Le is adding items like steak, a tuna burger and grilled fish.

Josh Calvin, general manager for Marlow’s Tavern, will join the team developing Rocket’s “affordable cocktails” and “local beer.”

Le adds the new concept is going to be simple and somewhere the neighborhood can dine at several times a week.

“WASABi was my baby and I finally have the resources to take it where I want it to go.”

Le also owns Soba restaurant in the East Atlanta Village which opened a year ago.
